So, Christmas is officially over, and so are both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. You’ve slept off any hangover you may have had, relaxed, and now you’re ready to face the new year ahead of you and all of the challenges and opportunities it will bring. Unfortunately, due to the amount of food and drink consumed during the holiday season, chances are you may have gained a bit of weight during the holidays, so Weigh-In Day is a great time to set your first new year goal: start eating better and exercising more regularly so you can not only shed that weight but improve your overall health. After all, what could be more important than your health? I'm usually pretty well behaved on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, it's having all the food lying around afterwards that does for me. 3lb to lose this year.
I’m heavier , but who cares I lost nearly two stone last year and I don’t feel better for it . Being skinny doesn’t make you healthy it just makes you last in the que for a lions breakfast I’m still a 32 thou
Not needed for me, I was careful about what I ate and drank over the festive season and I have kept my slim and boyish figure
I’ve just weighed myself and appear to have added the weight of every beer I’ve drank over the past 2 weeks
Lost five lb last month and that's with giving up nicotine too. Three three mile runs a week and ditched the daily pork pie. Piece of.
I’ve put 5kg on since late October and it’s not been easy at all! I’ve always been slim and could eat whatever I wanted without gaining weight With my dicky ticker my body is destroying its own muscle so I was getting weaker and weaker and getting seriously underweight. So combining 4-5 healthy meals a day along with resistance training at the gym I’ve actually managed to fight against the deterioration process and gain muscle. Im still shattered all the time and training knackers me out even more. But I’m happy I’ve gained weight and I’m hoping that I can keep building more muscle and that it will help offset the fatigue and other problems I have.
Keeping all the plates spinning is a right pain, eh Para. Just say when you want to go caving again bud.
It sure is but I need to keep on fighting to stay alive and keep functioning Giving up just isn’t an option. I’d love to get out caving again but at the moment it would be a daft idea as I’m just not well enough for it. I’d be putting my life and others at risk. What I’d really like to do is climb Nevis as I’ve not done it yet. So maybe down the line if I can get myself built up enough and I’m lucky enough to get an improvement in pump function We could go and climb that together? How’s your health doing Is there anything they can do to help you?
@paradox just waiting of ultrasound results from the other day, but apart from high cholesterol and slightly raised blood pressure nowt been found. Am running three miles in 23/25 mins after a fortnight so Tbh I don't think the heart has been much of a problem. Am on a cocktail of beta blockers and statins rock n roll!
I think I’ve lost weight over Christmas. I’ve hardly eaten anything and I look thinner in the face. Not too worried as I could have done with losing a bit.
I ‘may’ have put on a pound or 5! need to stop eating everything that I can see and drink everything that I may not even be able to see! Started back up with hockey training last Thursday, had a game yesterday, got training tonight, pt session tomorrow. Back on it!!!
