Train, bus and desk: three of the best places to fall asleep publicly today. Swimming pools, staff meetings, and construction sites: three places where it's probably best not to celebrate this special day.

Where have you slept that you probably shouldn't have?

As a new fresh faced builder out of college I found the working day long and often fell asleep in the works van on the way to the jobs. So what that's alright your thinking but maybe not with your head rested on the foreman's shoulder while he drove.

  3. I fell asleep at an all nighter in Rock City in Nottingham when at Uni .... I wasn't drinking either as they stopped serving around 2am and I had learnt the hard way that being awake when a hangover kicks in is a bad idea!! It was the bus journey back to Loughborough at 7am that was fun ... lots of people off to work & then a group of tired, sweaty rock girls & boys :)

  4. Whilst driving is a bad place to fall asleep, even worse when you're on a bike!
Also (in no particular order) I've been asleep on planes, trains and automobiles, ferries and the tube (I have woken up as much as 200 miles from home!), M&S Shop Doorway, queueing at Disneyworld, on the beach (ouch Sunburn!), on a lilo (ditto!), in court (oops!), business meetings, fundraisers, rock concerts, festivals, the list goes on.......... I'm beginning to think I have a problem? o_O

Heading for Tonbridge from London on train, fell asleep, went to Dover and back to London before I woke up, then spent the night at London Bridge station (awake).

  7. I try not to take it personally when I see students asleep in my lectures. Although I do reserve the right to make comments at their expense when they wake up. ;)

  8. Mrs Lofty fell asleep for the start of the British Grand Prix a number of years ago. We were in the Grand stand at the back of the grid and it was bedlam at the start as you can imagine. I was watching intensely as the engines revved, the lights changed and the cars screamed away from us. I turned to Mrs Lofty to exclaim how exciting it was, only to find her head drooping and zzzzzz sounding. She has never lived it down since :)

  9. We used to play a game when I lived in London, if anyone fell asleep on the Night Bus you left them there to see how far they would get. After a particularly healthy intake of intoxicants I found myself waking up as the driver drove into the depot shortly after 6am having made at least 2 full round trips in and out of the west end. I had to walk back under the M25 to the nearest tube :(

Whilst on holiday in Greece at some point in the early hours I fell asleep in a shop doorway only to awake hours later where I found customers stepping over me to get into the shop.

Nowadays I snore too loudly so people are always waking me up.

Must get my prescription for specs checked, I totally misread the title of this thread.

When we lived in Sydney I fell asleep in a cab from the airport after a flight from L.A. one night, the driver (like 99% of Sydney cabbies only had basic English) misheard or didn't understand me & when I woke up I found I was at Rosehill not Rozelle as requested. The difference is that Rosehill is about a $150 cab ride while Rozelle is about $30
