Today is Penguin Awareness Day

You may not give much thought to the noble penguin, but today we give serious consideration to our tuxedo-wearing friends who waddle around in the southern hemisphere. Did you know penguins mate for life? Or that the word penguin means 'fat winged' one in Portuguese? Or that, contrary to popular belief, penguins are not natural tap dancers? You learn something new every day.

I like the chocolate ones

 

I like them but they have a tendency to melt in the summer and your left with a sticky biscuit.

 

I have been bitten twice by penguins, once while spearfishing & once while attempting to photograph sharks off South Australia. Guess I'd rather be bitten by a Little Penguin rather than a Great White Shark :-

Pinguin (penguin in German) was also a rather successful German Raider during WW 2. Useless fact #596 ^-^
