The early peanut butter made by the Aztecs and Incas around 1000 BC was more of a paste and not nearly as creamy as the peanut butter we know now. Peanut butter didn’t become widely used until the 20th century. First, the peanut had to be considered more than animal feed, which it was until the late 1800s. At the turn of the century, inventions that made planting, cultivating and harvesting the legume (the peanut isn’t a nut at all) made it possible to see the peanut as a retail and wholesale food item. Peanut butter is a good source of vitamin E, B6, niacin, calcium, potassium and iron, is packed with protein and is rich in healthy monounsaturated fat. I have recently started eating it again, but it has to be crunchy, and not sweet like some of the cheaper ones.
A teaspoon of Peanut butter along with a teaspoon of Nutella in my porridge in the mornings starts me off right! Snickers porridge is the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If it's not crunchy, is it even peanut butter? I like to stick a big spoonful into the middle of a homemade burger patty before cooking Sent from my EML-L29 using Tapatalk
Like peanuts ..... and butter .... but together is gross ! Reminds me of the phrase .. garlic and bread ? Only in the case of peanut butter it is wrong ..... makes me think of babies nappies ! Don't get me started on Nutella. .. chocolate on bread .... I blame the Yanks.
My first instinct was to tell you to get in the sea.... I've quickly moved to curiosity and am now trying to work out the first opportunity I'll have to try this witchcraft you speak of...
Great for if you have a cold. Also, Coleman’s English mustard, and Robinson’s strawberry jam. 2 equal parts mixed. Dosnt taste like jam and it dosnt taste like mustard...
Boredom and no food in the cupboard. It’s quite nice. I have many ‘ odd’ recipes which sound horrible until you try them. It’s not right, and it’s not wrong... I like to think out of the box...
