Today is Mail Order Catalogue Day

Many of us will have grown up with a copy of the Littlewoods, Kays. or Great Universal Stores catalogue always available under the coffee table, or on the telephone table in the hall. A place to dream - and peruse the under wear section
I know that eBay and Amazon are a lot quicker and more focussed but I still like a catalogue. I once heard the Argos catalogue described as the 'laminated book of dreams'

 

Bill Bailey called it that.
Used to love the Freeman’s book. Used to get stuff from there as a teen on £26.25 a week. Didn’t have to pay it all back in one go! ( even though I seemed to have dressed like a Rumanian at a boot sale, these days.).

Those Freemans catalogues were rubbish. Lulu used to advertise them. Did she, even once, appear inside in her undies? No. Never. I felt cheated. Still do

Thanks Snots. You're right. I just need to accept it and move on. I have good days and bad days etc etc.....

 

It’s for the best. Have you tried browsing the Screwfix catalogue?
