Today is Internet Day

Internet Day celebrates the origin of the very first internet transmission ever sent, and from it the utterly world-changing series of events that followed. People are able to video conference from around the world, and the information is stored and transmitted at unbelievable rates between computers and friends and family. Enhanced Reality is becoming a reality, with Digital Overlays available for real world things, seamlessly combining the world of the internet with the one we walk around in every day.

It will never catch on!

 

Information Highway, or Devils carrier pigeon, apparently.
I must admit, it has made the world a smaller place, in many ways.

 

I had a digital detox last weekend ,for twenty five hours ( the clocks went back. ) I never made contact via the internet with the outside world

 

Not sure about this internet thing, new fangled gadgetry.

 

I started work in 1985 using the early Internet at Philips Research, speed reading newsgroups on programming.
Chatted up my girlfriend using a form of instant messaging on an IBM mainframe. Married 1986.
Had the same home email address from 1995 to 2016.

The Internet has had a lot of effect on my life.
