  1. Must get our breadmaker out - not used it for months

  2. I make homemade bread, soda bread. Its easy to make and is yeast free.

Like most processed foods, factory made breads usually contain a variety of non natural and unhealthy chemicals to give the bread a longer shelf life.

Home baking is very easy and you know whats in it.

Cheese scones I like and easy to knock up a batch for a few days supply. I use butter in my baking and never that factory made spread stuff made from chemicals and palm oil.

Scones take 5 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes baking time. What could be simpler.

There is a big variety of flour out there and the smaller companies are the best. Flour is very cheap.

  3. Can a complete novice make bread?

Would I need a machine thingy?

  5. Yes, I used to make it for a while by hand but a machine definitely makes it easier and for more consistent results. The bread maker is the one kitchen appliance we use regularly.

  6. Many folk convert their lawn mower

  7. A bread making machine is not necessary and they cost money. Most folks I know, never use them after the first attempt. I like the traditional homemade hands in the bowl method. Its relaxing and I like the feel of it. I like using the oven, baking tray or cake tin, rolling out dough, cutting to shape, its what makes it fun.

Hand methods are a good way to get kids involved and learn baking.

I don’t use a machine, but I do use a powerful mixer - Kmix - with a dough hook, to do the first knead. Takes 5 minutes and just needs a quick manual knead to finish off. I just set the timer on my phone when it’s proving and get on with other things.

  10. ha ha ... he's in the news again today seems that kissing the Bake Off winner has cost him £5m

Not quite true I use ours at least twice a week. Takes a couple of minutes to put the ingredients in and Hey Presto ... four hours later 'bread' appears.

  13. If you're doing Artisanal Grass Bread, about 20% cuttings, with lawn moss as a garnish
