Sweet choux dough, chocolate, cream and icing; this light but oh-so tasty pastry snack is the star of Chocolate Eclair Day. Originating from France in the nineteenth century, eclairs are known a favorite cake all over the world.

When I was young we used to have frozen ones from Bejam. You had to wait for them to thaw, but I remember eating them with solid frozen cream in.
    Disgusting sums it up ;)

I wish I'd checked earlier to see what day it is :(
There were some lovely looking ones in a bakery we were in this afternoon, Ms.T wouldn't let me have one ......... she's a meanie, kept muttering something about watching my blood sugar levels.

  8. I like the idea of today - might have to get one (or two).

  9. Might have to stay away from the shops in case I'm tempted to get some ... love 'em!

  11. Funnily enough I had eclairs this week for the first time in aaaages (possibly years! ) - they were delish!

  12. A generous helping of a curious white emulsion enclosed in a brown wrap of reconstituted cardboard and topped with what may have been a byproduct of the paint industry, Congo Brown in colouration and as muddy to taste.

    In answer to your question....yes!
