I like the thought of it and wondered if we should have one at dubfreeze or alternatively at Eddy's when tekeneders is on if @zed could ok it with @eddy.

Any thoughts on it from anyone else?

    Define swap meet. (Genuine question)
Is it what it sounds like or is it just like a jumble sale?"

I'm out then. It sounds Marmite.

  7. Only thing with dubfreeze is that most don't turn up till Saturday night if camping so would be dark and with it being a show they might get grumps on! If on the Sunday!

Tekenders would be good, or could arrange a meet somewhere where there is a large car park centrally on a Sunday.

I'm up for it as I'm after a few bits plus I have stuff to clear out! But not enough to warrant a stall at a show!

Just that really, bring what you don't want and swap it, give it away or sell it.

So like the classifieds on here then (but with a much more limited clientele?)
Personally (and it ain't my decision) I think it'd be a shame to change Techenders into some sort of jumble sale.

I don't mean a big autojumble thing Scott, just an informal look in each others boxes!

Get in there Rick old son,

No not entirely. you could always chuck all sorts in and take pot luck.
    Next one maybe Dave?

I'm not going to sit here defending the idea btw. if you don't like it or think it's crud do what baysearcher has done and and say it's crud.

It is something that has happened at the last two meets and I thought I would tout the idea a bit.

  13. noel edmonds tried it now hes into boxes too

I don't remember saying it was crud. I just question why it's needed?
People on here are always offering things for sale or for free. Changing it to an "event" will just reduce the number of people who can benefit from the items going...
I admit I don't get the whole giving stuff away thing so I'll continue to use the classifieds on here to hit as big a market as possible.

  15. Malc,

Dubfreeze wouldn't be anywhere near a certain seller's caravan in Wales. Might be the only way of getting these batteries. He's ucking useless. Wanted me to ring him today at 09:30 to arrange collection. Went to VM and hasn't got back in touch.

  16. Yep know what you mean malc but still think dubfreeze would be awkward catching people as on Sunday most will be inside keeping warm!!
I only have a few bits but think the idea of a swap meet is good as to be fair most people want stuff posting as it's not worth driving somewhere for a item which is a fiver! And I normally don't have time to post stuff ect! And the likes of og door cards and bits which are bulky you then need loads of card board and tape just becomes a waste of time for what there worth!

  17. Oh no Carl you didnt try to sort those too good to be true batteries out for him did you :(
    Forgot about that.

  18. It worked for me, shifted some stuff that couldn't be posted, others found stuff they didn't even know was up for grabs.
Doesn't have to be 'all official' imo, just a case of bring your stuff along and let people have a rummage.

  19. I could always do an open day/swap meet then we could have electric for the kettle although car parks not massive and would have to be a Sunday when it's not raining!

  20. i think its a do it if you want at meets but my bug bear would be lugging it and taking it home , bit like boot fair with less options or punters , even if you give stuff away some times people only take it to move on , not saying they will on here but it happens plus if your at a bona meeting they might take umbridge n think your trying to dodge trade stall pitch prices. For those reasons i wouldnt fancy it .
