So the side windows in our tin top camper could do with some fresh seals as they seem a bit leaky. I went for these chaps

However they didn't seem wide enough, try as I might there was always a significant gap between the glass and window edge. Could anyone point me in the right direction of which seals might be more suitable? Anyone interested in having the old seals off me?

Is your bus a converted panel van?

    Ignore that, just found pictures!
What do you mean by not wide enough?

Yeap, she was originally a panel van.
With the seals fitted to the van we attempted to fit the windows, however there was always a big gap at one end. Comparing the seals I bought and the ones currently fitted, the old ones have a noticeably thicker profile. I thought that all panel vans would have had similar conversion windows, perhaps my windows are slightly bigger?

  5. Maybe speak to C & C If there is a gap between the window and seal maybe they gave you normal seals rather than those for a converted panel van by mistake ??

You have put the insert in?

I'll drop them a line. Comparing the seals received from C&C with the images on C&C they certainly look like the right ones.
Zed, are you referring to the rubber insert that goes on the outside (put on using diamond lacer). We didn't get as far as putting that in as the gap was fairly significant, I don't think it would've supported itself long enough to try and get the insert in.

Part of me thinks maybe the window wasn't a standard conversion as such? The van is at the welders atm so I can't get a decent picture of the window, this is the best I have. Not sure if the glass looks a little bigger than a usual conversion? (so glad I got the vile flesh carpet off, on with the new mega mats stuff!)

Just compared my windows to another tin top conversion. It looks like most tin tops have much larger windows as there is a much smaller margin between the window and the top of the van when compared to mine. Looks like I might have to source replacement seals from elsewhere. Any recommendations?
