Thread size of Westfalia sink waste pipe?

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Zebedee, Jun 18, 2015.

  1. Does anyone know the size of the thread on the black pvc westfalia sink waste pipe (the one that goes out the bottom of the van)?

Will it be a standard plumbing size?

Don't think so. It is stamped on the pipe if you can get at it.
Bizarrely I think it's a US 1 1/2 inch (inch & a half). I vaguely remember I couldn't get any fittings from our local merchant so had to rip it all out & go with what was available.
There you go @Zebedee that's what I ended up doing with our Westy. The smaller pipe is water in from an external Truma submersible pump thingybob.

  3. Don't know if this helps but the drain on my Westy is just clear flexible hose which attaches to the sink with a jubilee clip. There's no trap like on Busmonkey, though that does look a professional fix.

LOL don't know so much about professional. Not sure why I went to all that bother actually but it does keep it neat I suppose. It does allow @Mrs Busmonkey to maximise her fetish of stuffing little baskets of, well stuff, into every nook & cranny.

  5. It is stamped made in the US so may well be 1 1/2" stuff.
Just wanted to fit an adapter to the bottom of the pipe where it exits the floor so i could attach a pipe into a catch tank. Currently it just ends below floor level with a threaded pipe.

  6. I junked mine as well, i fitted a grey caravan waste and then the flexi black pipe. free's up loads of space
