Thermostat bracket

    Just putting my T1 engine back together and went to put thermostat bracket on, except no hole, any ideas? IMG_20200422_190323.jpg

    Look underneath that tin

    @davidoft looked under the tin dave and no hole, when i got the van it didnt have a bracket just the rod and thermostat hanging down
     
  4. Which side of the engine is that? You may have to drill in the case a hole and tap it.

    @snotty , looking from the front with the pully at the front it is the right hand side

    @Ian Jones, looking under the engine i have the same casing, would it be possible that you measure the distance from the bottom of the casting to the centre of the bolt, i assume the bolt is 8mm.

  8. It is an m8 stud. I’d aim for the centre of that boss in the casting.

    Shouldn’t need to drill too deep. From memory, I have seen cases without the stud in the past.
     
  11. I will measure tomorrow as it’s in my dads garage but I have to go there tomorrow to deliver his weekly shopping.

  13. @arryhancock i get it to 10mm from the bottom edge of the case to pin centre.
