There's SOOOOO Much To Do!

  1. I know this is stating the bl**ding obvious, but after the luxury of a full day on the camper as everyone was out, it struck me how much work there is in putting a camper back together.

I'm not even doing the interior, but the list of jobs goes on and on and never seems to end. As an example, one of the easy tasks today was to put the rear bumper on. Dig bumper out of shed, remove rusted bolts, snap two, need to buy new ones now, pressure wash 10 year old mud off brackets and bumper, angle grind rust off brackets and inside of bumper, blast brackets, prepare for paint, paint them and inside of bumper. Leave until tomorrow to fit. Job still not done!

Write another list of 30 tasks to add to the existing list.....

No point to this, just a rant.

    :)

  3. Get it running, insured and drive it and the list won’t matter as much.

  4. You'll get it all painted, then realise the captive mounting nuts in the chassis rails have rusted off

  5. I remember it well ! but it's cold dark evenings now and it will make spring come round much faster getting on with it :)

  6. Exactly my plan - not too far to go ready for MOT, but the rear bumper has to go on as that's where the fog lamp mounts!

    :D

  7. You don’t actually need a bumper or a fog lamp for the MOT ;).

  8. Fog lamp needed for 1979 I thought?

    B*gger!

  9. Nope. If it's fitted, I believe it has to work, but my bloke's never checked mine. Bumpers are purely cosmetic for the MOT.

  10. 1979 and no fog lamp on mine

As snottty says if it there it has to work if it’s not it can’t be tested.
Or wait until next year and it’s MOT free!!
