Hey.... ms @Merlin Cat http://theselecter.net/live-dates/ the Selector are in Sheffield, at the Plug, 5th dec [ive seen Hayseed Dixie there] then their down here at the Roadmender 6th dec [ive also seen hayseed dixie here]
Cheers. I was planning to go but a surprise surprise moment has happened and I have a new found sister to meet on that very day. Obviously, I did consider saying sorry, can't come, Selecter playing in Shef, but finally decided Pauline Black will have to do without me stalking her!!
Yes!!! Well, possibly half sister. I may discover more when we meet. In short, we shared a mother who had kids then couldn't cope. First set, left in care in wales, myself, left in care in London. Mother disappeared never to be found. This was in the 60's. New sister had tracing co trying to find mum, no success with that, but in their search, they found me
New sister sounds far more interesting than the Selecter. Many, many years ago, they were supposed to be sharing a bill with Martha and the Muffins and they never showed up.
I've seen a photo and quite disappointed she hasn't got dreads! She's married to a farmer, so I guess a farmer herself too. I'm trying to get myself out of trying to talk in a welsh accent before our mtg!! We've not spoken yet, communication has been by the written word so far, so she is unaware of my attempts at welsh
@tuesday_wildchild , it is v exciting and a bit scary. I foresee tears! Hopefully we will get on fine. @artb I may have photos after mtg but not sure if she would like me putting her photo public just yet
Surprise relatives can be problematic I find. Not as bad as a pop-up family as then it gets complicated. That said ...you may be on the brink of discovering one!
