Which vehicles do you wish you'd bought when you had the change but didn't and regretted it afterwards? I got offered a porsche 912 a few years back that'd been parked up in a garage in the late 70's and not turned a wheel since. I turned it down as i didn't have the £1200 asked and my mate bought it instead. It was rust free apart from a couple of small holes in the kidney bowls under the back seat. He welded those up, gave it a clean and a service and sold it again for £7k on ebay. I also turned down a clean, rust free '71 beetle for £300 back in 2000 as i didn't have the space to park it.
A solid MG TF that had been laid up in a garage for 15 years, wanted a full strip down and a freshen up and that was about it, offered for free by a very happy customer but I declined. What a dick!!
I had 5 bays on the drive and I had a very good friend who offered me a twin slider for £300 ,it had 6 month test and had been to France twice...I had the cash but said no.......
Slightly different scenario....I sold my 16v Jetta Syncro (one owner from new, full history, 90,000 miles on the clock) No idea why....
Went to see a Bus at a garage in Lytham when I first started looking for one. Had a test drive with a guy who was just a mate of the owner, he pretty much talked me out of the Bay. Then he showed me a yellow E-type roadster that was there and was pretty much offering me a drive. I turned it down!!! Probably would be building a different shaped garage if I hadn't
zxr750h1 £300, blade round headlight £1000 and the one that really pains me, Aprillia RS250 for a grand. Still got my LC though!
I got offered a split oval beetle for £3000, been stored since the 80's it was last used as a strip car. Had a few dramas with it but got talked out of it as it had a cut dash and some bits weren't original!!
I think the thing to remember is that all these stories lead you to where you are now, to add to the rich tapestry of life's journey. And where you are now is sitting head in hands, *******ed off that the rust bucket you call a bay is costing way more than it will ever be worth. Why oh why oh why did you not buy shares in Apple when they were cheap etc etc etc.
