The NEXT brigade Well they came and they went the NEXT generation , they bashed their mortgages and credit cards to the limit , but now it is over me thinks , they are all banging their luxury made in taiwan handbags on ebay as if they are too hot to handle , in fact they are skint , the mortgage company won't give em any more credit, the credit card company's want their outrageous debts cleared and the job they had for life and took very little interest in has become a place where they have to now work - poor soul's ! What will they sell next , could it be the camper - gadzooks noo , it's the baby , it's their pride n joy , the one thing the thirty somethings cherish above all else , it give's them an identity other than their NEXT jeans and handbags - oh and household furniture . You see the boom is bombed out , we can't get credit so easily , house prices have dropped and we are all having to work much harder to earn a crust , we are all wondering about our jobs and whether it is secure or not and we are secretly totting up our our assets in readiness to jump ship and buy that nice little gite or maison de campagne in France where we can live cheaply again , luxuriate in our new found knowledge of the Pinot noir or the Chablis , in effect we can resume our pretentious existence En france , parle Francais and ignore the letters from the credit card company , we can wax lyrically about the camper we once had and the great times we had with our vw friends at meets , conveniently forgetting , the mud , the cold and the people you secretly abhorred who got you drunk and kept you awake all night with their fun and laughter and silly coats , yes it was fun on reflection but none of them write to you now , not even ????? who had the same NEXT spotted wellies as you or ???? who seemed to share your love of wine ? Oh how times have changed , the NEXT generation are moving to France and those of us left to steady the Brit ship that is the uk will have to work harder and look after our spondulas a bit better , on the up side there might be a few cheap well restored campers coming on the market soon , then again maybe not , maybe the odd few minters might not be so mint beneath , maybe they are all top coat and rusty bottoms ,maybe a bit like the NEXT generation . i feel for these people , they saw /see want everything that is best , they do not look closely at the true value of their beautiful handbag made in a sweatshop in Bangalore for tuppence , they care not that the price they pay for their made in Mumbai jeans would feed the person who made them for a month and maybe their family too , because they are blinded by fashion and the craving to be cool and trendy , a few of them buy campers too - and soon they will be selling them me thinks along with their designer handbag made in the thousands , maybe not the camper yet but defo the jeans .maybe someone in Mumbai might get them for 99p + pp , maybe not as that is still a fortune for them and it unlikely they have computer access ! Hopefully this won't upset the market too much as they will part with the camper last of all , maybe when they finally arrive En France who knows , but it is likely to be the last treasure to go as they have such fond memory's of getting drunk with ??? ? who had the same spotted wellies ( oh how we laughed ) and maybe only if they definitely have to let it go ? I am just jesting about all this of course , but there does seem to be a lot of NEXT handbags and clothing on ebay atm -??
AS a young boy nearly a man I always found it totally stupid the way young couples would at the same time of buying there together home would also fill it with the latests cool and trendy gear, new this and new that, ours is bigger then next doors. Then the sprogg turns up and its all had to be new and trendy stuff for that aswell. Bugger wish I'd know before hand they were all going to France as well.
