My new daily..... keeping it German, and a little more refined and comfortable than the E46 M3 it replaced. [=http://s149.photobucket.com/user/mjeone/media/27F5FDBE-6A15-4542-80D7-3497E5B2B762.jpg.html] I'm super chuffed with it, 65k 1 owner full MB history and a good smattering of options. A lovely way to waft to work!
It's got a couple of nips and tucks needed. The brake discs are past thier best, so new pads and discs all round soon.....not that you can feel any degradation through the pedal. There's a vacuum pipe somewhere under the passenger seat that has either become disconnected or split. I can hear it hissing and it's currently limiting the massage function - and the multiple inflatable bolsters won't retain their setting. Otherwise she's mint...... zero swirls on the outside and the inside looks like it's never been sat in. They build these things incredibly well.
I replaced my 17 year old trusty BMW E36 estate car early this year, with a five year old, MB C220 Estate. ( Diesel automatic............for old farts like me) Very pleased with the car, as you say its a lovely way to waft around retirement. I think you will find the cost of aftermarket Discs and pads very reasonable Tony
Discs and pads and shoes all round were under £250, I've done a few thousand since....... the things feelis like it runs on double cream.
Found you on the MB UK website When you mentioned a 76 bay owned from new, I knew it could only be you! I think I 5 yo MB c220 is a good choice, last of the restyled old shape. I replaced my 2 yo C220 with this beast
You can't beat a German car can you! I notice that the types on the MB site are not as technical as those on the late bay, ask the dumbest of questions half the time. Tony
RTFM!!.............My old chief engineer shouted that at me, as he threw the Hiller 12e Helicopter mm at me. With the two blade rotor head still fitted to the helicopter, I had, being a clever young man contrived to remove the wrong bolt, ending up with one rotor blade at 90 degrees to the other. Just so that I'm not rude to you...what do you call yourself on there? Tony
The wife has one of these, C300h..... goes like stink! Scary brakes though the energy scavenging system try's to put you through the windscreen on a regular basis!
