If its an offence to handle native crayfish ,due to them being a protected species, whats the rules regarding the American ones?
American ones carry a parasite that kills off our native crayfish also with them being a bigger breed they compete for the food that our native ones eat aswell as the food and eggs of fish species Theres no law against trapping and eating american signal crayfish only about moving and releasing them If your going to eat them just make sure you remove the intenstinal tract before cooking them
Yeh the American ones are a bigger invasive species That have invaded another creatures habitat There probably louder aswell Who would have believed that
Come on para , get that bloody bus finished I can see a green laneing crayfish BBQ weekend on the horizen
Dont worry im as keen to have it on the road as you are but good things take time lol I Dont want it rushing on the last leg as once its finished and on the road i dont want it off the road for more than a week for many years to come I dont mind doing a few wild food talks/demonstrations at some of the camps though We have so much thats good eating wild food in this country that goes un used its a shame The bus is being built with hunting and foraging in mind hence the utilitarian practicality approach
