Hello everyone, I was on this site before it crashed and just recently signed back up. You may have noticed my picture intensive post in the members rides section: http://thelatebay.com/index.php?topic=5066.0 Anyway, as a proper introduction, my name is Christopher. I am from Newfoundland, Canada, and am currently living in Ontario, Canada. I am taking Automotive Engineering in University and will graduate next year. I have owned VWs for a while now. Bought my first car back in 2003, a 1997 Jetta TREK. I had a lot of fun with the car and took it from this: To this: But time and money were no friends of the Jetta and it is now crushed. Then I bought a 1984 Rabbit GTI back in 2006 that I drove across Canada: That I began to strip down to restore: But that project is now on the back burner as I got the Colonel in 2010: That now looks like this: I have the bus and the GTI stored back home in Newfoundland while I am in school and will be back with them for the summer. Just recently we got this 1972 VW Beetle for my gf so that will be the main project for next summer and hopefully lots of camping in the Colonel. Really like the vibe on this site so Im glad to share my stuff with you guys.
Welcome back Chris...good to see the colonel is looking as good as ever! Did you finish off the engine build ok, I recall you was mid way through it before the crash
Hey Colonel, welcome back! I remember being an avid reader of your thread and loved keeping up to date with your van. Looking forward to seeing it again ^-^
Thanks for the kind welcome guys. jivedubbin: Lots of land but not enough garage space. Too many vehicles lol, trying to convince dad to build a nice warehouse for storage. He has a mustang, bmw, truck for storage too, plus a bunch of recreation vehicles. MorkC68: Nice memory! I wasnt even sure at what point I had gotten to on this site before. I will continue updating the Colonels thread to show where I am now. It is running again! Terrordales: Actually hasnt gotten too cold yet, but it is coming.... those -20 mornings wont be long now. Mrs. Majorhangover: Thanks, I am glad to hear it.
