Id posted the stereo retuned bit before seeing all the bits about securing the battery. Im now trying to find a way of securing the batteries
@77 Westy thanks for the useful link I'll have a closer look at what I've got - hole wise in my battery trays and then find something that allows me to secure them down properly. Not sure ill have time before techenders, so may have to check it out properly at the weekend
When I rebuilt my bus I fitted new battery trays, the starter battery tray came with the fixed clamp but I spent hours fabricating an exact copy for the leisure battery. A couple of years later I discovered I could have bought one from Scofield for £6.50. http://www.alanhschofield.com/ourparts/prod_3591570-Battery-Tray-Top-Bracket-6879-211813162NBKT.html If neither of your trays have clamps you need two of those^ and two of these: http://www.alanhschofield.com/ourparts/prod_2521451-Battery-Clamp-6879-211813191.html and http://www.alanhschofield.com/ourpa...y-Tray-Bottom-Bracket-6879-211813162NBKB.html Or drill a couple of snotty holes.
Bungee cords are your friends - as a temporary (ok 5 year ) fix ... Think i got my from Halfords . Whatever you decide just get the van to Techenders we can borrow a drill and do it properly
To secure my leisure battery I used a piece of angle iron and two lengths of 8mm threaded bar nuts, repair washers the large ones and a piece of plywood under the battery. Sorry no pic's but at techenders,if you want to have a look?
halfords also do a basic battery tie down kit, ive used one on each of my batteries. i'll bring the scooby one i have
ill show you mine and see what you think and then we could pop out to a halfords, or i can do pics tomorrow so you can get them before hand? there may be some in my build thread
