I’m not a fan of technology for technology sake However it’s not all bad and for certain parts of my life my Life its a big help I suffer from anxiety and depression This time of year is a big struggle for Me Yet thanks to technology I can look back at moments like this And I know it’s only temporary and things will come back good
Thats a small one... Even when I started at University in 1981 I was shown the ICL 2970..its entire 4 megabytes of RAM needed two cabinets that size.
Yeh I know my mum worked at the DEB and theirs was moosive , our DO applicon system where I worked for a while was much bigger than that one too , but cranes would be needed .
The main thing is though, going back on topic, that our technology allows us to keep a lot of pictures and videos of happy bright times to look back on.
Thanks mark My sister bought her a kit to actually grow them from caterpillars Great times with my youngest checking on their daily progress and the release at the end brought us all together for about four hours. I think we sent four or five painted ladies out into the world Happy times
Keeps me going I find finding joy in The simplest of things can actually carry you through darkest Times
It was fossil hunting for me. Poking about in the mud on beaches and quarries, finding Dino footprints and the like. That and getting out riding my bike and then fixing it after. And the unstinting support of family and friends who really should have had enough of me. And Bazza of course! One thing technology gives us is connections to people we wouldn’t otherwise meet, and what’s always surprising, although it shouldn’t be if we had faith in human nature, is the kindness of strangers. People who have nothing to gain from being kind but do it anyway. That’s got to be a good thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Interestingly... Talking of technology... My eldest son got a new phone the other day, straight out of the box,he was on it,just like that. Boom! Done! Now,in 1982 when video recorders came out,my mum bought one.I was 14. She didn't have a clue what she was doing with it. I had a look. Boom! Done!...which made me think just the other day..." Mum, (she's 86 now), what did you have to explain to your mum when you were younger?". "Decimalisation", she said... Fair enough...
