Techenders - 21st to 23rd April - Who's coming?

ok to get at the rear bit of roof, but not so good for the roof on the opposite side to the sliding door

 

Someone lighter than me could get up on the Westy roof or with it up maybe we might need ladders which Eddie will have won't he? You going to roof mount that Lidl thing?

 

I don't even want the lidl thing as I've got a 30,000 mah power bank, which will do me until I need or can afford solar set up.

 

Looking at possibly removing the Fan Shroud and replacing the spring on the air intakes on my 1977 2Lit Type 4 at TE.
Seen this on the Samba saying that it's possible, has anyone done this before and do they see any potential issues? (Apart from ritual abuse!)

Usually Id agree, but until I buy a fridge I have no need for solar

Don't have spare cash for all that lot, so I'll stick to my cool box for now!

 

Ah but just think you could keep your coolbox running and your power bank charged up for days whilst saving £s on hook up - it will pay for itself in no time

My coolbox isn't even electric.

It did me proud for my Hebrides trip last year, just swapped the ice blocks at night and mainly drank red wine because it doesn't need chilling

On top of the Fan Shroud, the one that makes the Thermostat Flaps fail in a 'Safe' position, or it would if I hadn't broken it!

 

no need to remove the fan shroud to do that

 

Really, I thought that you have to remove the whole arm and that yo need to remove the shroud for that?
At least i was told that you have to

 

when i got my bus the right hand flap and arm were not installed, i fitted it by loosening a few tins and sliding it in. its possible and much quicker to do.

Note to self; I must find that replacement spring flap!
