The strip down of Burt is coming on nicely, however the tank is causing a challenge. We cant get the nuts to turn at all, without twisting the straps. Oxy is out (Although I am sure the nuts would be released!) Has anyone got any technique tips I can try?
Tricky, if they're rusted on. Penetrating oil? You absolutely need to grip the straps firmly from above before trying, or the teeny spot welds will snap off for sure
I drilled the spot welds on mine - they were well seized on Once the tank was out of the way I welded them back together
I think we broke one of yours and welded it back on! Get an adjustable spanner on the tank strap and once the nut gets moving don't stop or it will seize on, you WILL feel the burn
