  1. Here's a few of my pics from our Air Cooled Monkeys club camp at a very wet and muddy big bang, came home at mid day today so didn't take many

  2. Looks wet! Seems you still had a good time. Was it as empty as it looks?

I was looking forward to going but that's the problem with droughts

  6. I was there for about 3hrs before the younger ones started crying with cold. Utter disaster, tried to put a brave face on it but it got rained off. PS Festival circus was possibly the worst I've ever seen.

  7. It was a laugh but a total wash out, monday morning and the sun is shining and i bet we are still on a drought hosepipe ban lol.

  14. Sorry for the delay. Why was the Festival Circus so bad? I'll tell you.

The first act we saw was 'Dangerous Dave' the knife thrower. Against the backdrop of wind and rain battering the big top Dave gingerly threw knives that wouldn't cut through butter now matter how hot they were. When the audience clapped at the end it was for the courage of his poor assistant who was repeatedly hit by the knives falling out of the knife board.
Next up was a very poor juggling clown (who will kill you) who blew a whistle a lot (he would appear again later), followed by the girls of the circus skills school. Half attempted feats of balance followed by lots of forward rolls onto a mat.
The trapeze artist sat on her one trapeze bar, moved around and posed in various positions without actually swinging.
Finally the best of the acts was the Juggler (no longer in clowns attire and without the whistle) who was actually quite good, especially when he juggled with fire and we could feel the reflected heat.
At least we were out of the weather for 15 minutes!

  16. Cheers, I shouldn't be so harsh but after the six hour drive to get there, dangerous dave just didn't make it worth my while!
