I was interviewed by JLR there for a completely different job to the one I applied for in 2007. I told the interviewers that I had no clue what they were talking about, upon hearing this the HR lady kept going with the usual stupid HR questions you get at interview anyway. I was invited back to Whitley plant for a new interview a month later. This time I gave a presentation to a bloke who told me he didn’t have a clue what I was in about…..they were again interviewing me for a different job to the one to which I’d applied. I’m not making this up…the same HR lady, having been told they’d ballsed up a second time then waltzes in and insisted on giving the same stupid HR questions! I finally did some work with JLR 11 years later, no sign of the HR lady thank Christ. The museum is special….on the driveway in they had many of the heavy machines that a lot of the automotive manufacturers had used back in the day….they were sitting outside rusting but nonetheless quite beautiful. Many were simply buried, all had been superseded by CNC and/or robots…but they are as much the heritage as the cars.
