Summerfest, Nottingham

Discussion in 'Shows Events You've Missed unless you went' started by lola, Jun 13, 2012.

  1. Evening all. I'm contemplating Summerfest, Nttm next month as it's cheap AND close. Thing is - is it cheap because it's pants?! Has anyone been before and recommends it?

  7. ooh, may have a pootle over if i'm free.

  8. Might go to this as not far away. Might also end in divorce if I go to too many shows this year lol :)

  9. We went last year it was a nice chilled out show. When we arrived we were all given a hawiian lei, which was a lovely touch. They'd built a beach which had acoustic music on each night and for those wanting something a bit louder theres a club/pub on-site which this year has a beetles tribute on. They also had a bmx display last year which was good and something different from the norm.

    We would recommend it ;D

  10. ^^^ Thanks, might give it a go then. In light of another one being rained off this weekend though I think I'll wait and decide on the day!!!

  11. Indoor bar you can't go wrong, And the camping is all quite close to a solid road so getting out shouldn't be a problem!!

  16. For those of you who don't know about Summerfest or the site it's held on, please take a look at www.dubdayz.co.uk

We think our little show has a great atmosphere and each year we have a different theme.
Last year was 'Beach Party' and we shipped in over 25 tonnes of sand and made a beach near Nottingham!!!

The venue is called MFN which stands for in the Middle of F****** Nowhere and it's got it's own pub on site with
a nightclub too!!! The camping fields are split into General and Family areas and there is decent road access on
the ground (hopefully no boggy fields!!!). The site stands in a remote valley between Eastwood and Shipley and
you can even have a leisurely walk down the canal closeby if you like!!!

We manage to get a great family atmosphere with chilled music outdoors and for those of you who prefer to be
a bit more lively, the indoor nightclub has the noisier stuff!!! This year there will be NORTHERN SOUL/Mowtown
night on Friday and a Beatles Tribute Band on Saturday (who are brilliant having performed for David Beckham,
Richard Branson and the like) along with a late night DJ in the nightclub. Outdoors will be a couple of accoustic
sets and Campervan Radio will also be there. By the way... DON'T FORGET YOUR SIXTIES FANCY DRESS!!!

We get a great range of Dubs at our event and have Show N Shine and Rust N Grime categories to enter.
We also hope this year to have an area for Sixties Classic Cars (non VW) and Scooters on display.

IT IS CHEAP but it's great value for money with lots going on. The show is run by enthusiasts (not a company)
so we cover our costs and aren't looking for a huge profit - hence the pricing (you can always buy a tee shirt with
what you save over other ticket prices!!!).

Hope you all take a run out and see us - hopefully the rain will have cleared by then and we'll be in the sunshine!!! lol.
PLEASE SEE OUR WEBSITE for more details.
