Honestly , it turns out we have so much crap. Been going through boxes, " kids , can you pack your stuff in these boxes" well they did but they didnt bother chucking out the Marmite, may as well have emptied a bin in to the nana boxes. Anyway this turned up from 2013. Thats me just behind the red artic, 130 car pile up. Nobody seriously hurt thankfully. It was a weird experience. I had to climb out of the window, took stock of the situation and dived back in for my fags and flask. Seven hours before I got off that bridge and lost the best vehicle we ever had, our Fiat Scudo mpv
Yeh and the car transporter makes it look like some are going the wrong way . You was famous nick and lucky boy
PC Moffat from Kent Police was the first responder to that incident. I know him quite well and he still says it was a harrowing start to a very long shift.
The emergency services were brilliant, obviously professional but with a sense of humour which helped.Red cross were on hand with food and drink which was supplied by Morrisons , a local coach company showed up with air conditioned buses (it was very hot that day). So next time you see your friend please thank him.
I remember that, just googled it and amazingly no one died. Tho 5 seriously injured. Good job you weren’t in the camper!
Small world. I was on top of the bridge doing about 55 mph could hardly see because of all the fog. I left enough of a gap that could I could do full emergency stop with a good cars length in front of me. I moved forward far enough that the guy behind did not hit me. Then pulled the car far left onto some kind of drainage grate thing. Cars were smashing into each other to the right of me for far too long after i had stopped. It was completely crazy the photos don't even scratch the surface of how bad it really was. the media didn't report it but you had the main pile up at the base of the bridge and then several others along the bridge i was amongst the 4th area although there may have been more further back on the bridge. Don't know how i did it but i managed to drive off several hours later without a scratch to me or the car i was very very lucky. Saddest thing for me that day was people driving along the other bridge taking photos on their phones. what on earth is that all about?
If you plan it right you can successfully move house without your grown up children finding out. Eventually they find you, so you have to sell-up and do it all over again. ..
