As said, it's stuck in second, pretty certain it's not the plate on the floor as I've removed that! Rod slides in and out a bit but seems to baulk!
I seem to remember there's something inside the nose that breaks? A bracket or the hockey stick, someone had pictures a while ago but can't find!

@Zebedee sent me a diagram a while back when it happened.

  3. My Mercedes got it's 7 speed auto box stuck in second once. If it's any consolation I think I can say with confidence yours will be cheaper to fix:D

It's not mine and its in the workshop having other things fixed

  7. I tried to replace bush etc, but still had problems ,got another box in the end...

  8. If that was my customers bus , I would'nt touch it, unless they had a replacement box...

If i was mine "I'd have a go" trouble is people don't like paying for stuff if it is'nt fixed...:D

  11. Here's a pic of the nose cone when mine was stuck in 2nd.

Went for a different gearbox in the end, although all the gears could be selected once the selector was in the right place.
Be good to know what worn part causes this if you findout.

Wondered if a worn plastic bush that the hockey stick connects would allow it to happen?

Just read your thread thanks that's answered a question , this one hasn't got the sprung bit either and I was wondering if that was a later addition.

It's the bracket that's broken, it's been welded twice before and broken again on one of the welds so new one going in this time , the hockey stick ball is really worn and I think this is causing the problem!

  13. To be honest those two previous welds look poor

That's still an option but I'm borrowing one for now and located one in the USA which the guy is posting.

  17. So it is your bus...

What do you think about your "mechanic" asking help on line....? :D

Anything that keeps me off the Big Yellow Taxi is good. I'm just thankful the bracket went (again) while he was test driving it around his yard :)
