Hi Just looking at buying a cover for the van but i cant tell whats the differences between the stormforce and the hamilton ones? The JK ones seem to get bad reviews so I wont get one of them. Any thoughts which is better? Cheers Craig
stormforce from here http://www.coveryourcar.co.uk/ hamilton here http://www.hamiltonclassic.co.uk/acatalog/OutdoorCoverCarBreathableSoft.html
i personally don't like any, i feel they trap moisture and damage paint work with the constant movement and pressing on the paintwork. If your van needs to stay out i would give a good wash and wax
We have a Hamilton one but have never taken it out the box! I think it was on e@rlybay ... someone had a stormforce one and it wasnt quite long enough ... someone with a better memory might remember ???
I believe the Stormforce is 'snug' on a titntop with no wheel on front etc, I opted for Hamilton based on their bug cover which I've had for years. It does the job very well, baggy but that helps with breathability I guess. As for the wash and wax idea, won't be much of a protection against tree sap or bird shi'ite... unless you do it weekly?
The paint on the van is not the best but its ok, Ideally I would like a car port but funds wont allow yet
I had a stormforce one but was a little short on my westy, would slip up over the bumpers - but would be better on a tin top id say! Returned it and got a hamilton, much better Quality bit of kit, generous size and no damp issues, good breathable cover. Had mine 18 months now and would recomend it 8)
we have a Protec...breathable with straps that fasten it securely under the van and a little zip around the slider so you can get in without taking the cover off. :0 don't use it now though!
I bought the hammilton cover, loads of room on the tintop, 2 straps underneath. Washed and waxed the van before fitting the cover, it took 2 to fit but wasnt too much of a faf. Pics later
