if you stone chip it then its almost impossible to clean so will always look dirty after a while, as above though why stonechip?

I can't see the point. As mentioned above it will never clean up well unless you use the smooth stuff.

Mine is stone chipped. As mentioned already it always looks dirty and you can't ever improve that look. I'd much rather a painted engine bay. Keep the stone chip for under the arches and chassis.

  8. theres nothing dirty about that engine bay it perfect , clue was in stone chipped then painted owen nw

There's nothing worse than stone chip where stones won't chip anything - puts me right off - could be over a load of rust. No offense Owen. ;)

it will get dirty over time ( its an engine bay) and overpainted or not the dirt still clings to the texture of the finish, porsche and other manufacturers used it for sound deadening in a dark colour it may look ok but not on lighter coloured stuff. better off with a tin of smoothrite or gloss .

  16. mines stone chipped along the bottem, under the arches, front bumber lump, not in the engine bay. U wouldnt notice it as its got so much paint, airbrushing & clear coat the finish has just dissapeared haha. >:D

  17. no rust in there zed , i had my bus sand blasted then red leaded and all the rest , nice and shiney , mine is nt to rippley as i thin it slightly when usen stone chip so it smoother then paint it , owen nw

Can't see the point tbh. Of you're going to paint it, why stone chip it as well? You shouldn't be having too many stones flying around your engine bay!?!

  20. extra protectection, even engine bays rust , why put paint in same question owen nw
