Stereo sat nav dvd players

  1. Im looking at upgrading my stereo system in my van and at the same time (and after following Woody around all summer) am looking at getting a sat nav. :)

These sort of things seem to cover all bases and allow for dvd playback for the kids.

Has anyone got on or similar or seen one? The idea looks great but Im a little concerned i wouldalso have to buy a sat nav map disc to get the sat nav part working? (how difficult is it to get hold of the sat nav discs?)

Anyone thoughts would be appreciated! ;D

  2. And it says analogue tv ! havnt we just gone to digital tv now so would that not work?

  3. thats a double DIN size, do you have room for it in the dash?
if you are not cutting large holes then you need a flipout screen

  4. Ive seen a flip out one aswell. I havnt checked the sizeavailable on my dash but i would check before buying.

Im just trying to work out if anyone has seen them or has any thoughts about them! Its quite alot to shell out to later find out it doesnt work as I thought it would! :(

Im sure there are people on here who are far mor electronically minded than me!! :-[

I still havnt got a smart phone and use an old nokia (brick! :-[ :-[)

  5. Doesnt say anything about maps, does say you can have your GPS on while watching a video and driving so that's alright then!

You could get an app for the iPod. I use co-pilot europe with the traffic add on, works great and not mucho bucks..

  8. This medium is so one dimensional... My idea for using an iphone app and running it through the iphone port on the unit is serious. best of all you get the traffic reporting through the 3g network. Worth thinking about. I thought the 'feature' showing GPS over video was hilarious :))
Anyway, don't be paranoid now Trevor >:D
    (Thanks for the K btw)

  10. Go for a decent radio CD like Sony or Kenwood or Becker if you want to go top spec & stick to a Tom Tom for sat nav. You can't get better. ;)
