just got my steering coupling in the post. i ordered the expensive one from c&c. the label says nos genuine, the site says nos genuine i can bend it in my hand though. i was expecting a rigid thing, as everybody complains the cheap repro ones are too flexible. it says germany on it but doesnt say vw. looking at the site the pic shows one with vw on it, but also suggests the manufacturer is vewib..surely if its nos genuine it cant be made by vewib? have i been sent a fake?
http://www.customandcommercial.com/...enuine_vw_steering_column_coupling_68-79_673/ in the pic of it where the "vw" is, on mine is evidence of rubber removal. i think it said vewib and its been removed and ive been done Here's mine
Im sure the genuine one says VW on it in a small logo. Its been a couple of years but Im certain the one we had was rigid
The genuine ones do have VW on it. I had one from a different supplier which was sold as genuine and just made my horn sound. Get one from VWH, their genuines are genuine
The C+C page says: 'Genuine VW New Old Stock item' so it looks like they've screwed up - sorry about this - I thought they were genuine
I'd speak to C&C 1st. It could've been returned by someone else and re-sold but other than that I'd be more than a little annoyed.
yeah im going to call them but i need to confirm first whether a genuine should bend like in the previous pic, i was assuming they would be rigid?
