Steering Bush

  1. Hi all,

So I'm in the process of replacing my ignition barrel/loom and bushings on my '71 single cab, when removing the wheel under it was a small maybe metal bushing. This is under the springs etc before the circlip. Mine has broken up, any idea if the 73- ones are the same as prototype bay? heritage can't seem to answer.

    Thanks

I replaced mine (xover/early) with a roller bearing and outer race stuffed into a bronze bushing.

If your steering wheel is on a tapered spline amd its a git to remove its early.

If its on a straight spline and it just comes off in your hands when you undo the nut, its late.

  3. Yeah it's tapered, had to use a puller to get it off as per Bentley book
