:(As above. Oil is coming out of the seal that sits behind a circlip around the big splined shaft.
Do I need to take the box out to replace the seal or can it be done in-situ. Is it desperate & could it be done at TE with a little help from my new friends?
How do I get fresh oil into the box.
    Thanks all.....

I'd take it off and check it, much easier to work on

LOL. Well hopefully I'll make some new friends at TE :D regardless of the steering box. TBH I was hoping not to have to do too much at all apart from a quick service.
Suspension & steering are kind of a bit important. Happy to dive in but not sure what to expect?

  9. i used a standard 3 legged bearing puller to get the arm off and was just about to say keith is ur man !! beat me to it

  10. That looks strange? the input shaft has a bearing at the top, the bottom is inside the case

  14. Just replaced mine last week, an easy job even for me, the old seal came out after a bit of pushing and pulling with a flat ended srew driver. image.jpg

    Silver Needs points/will pay!

No sign yet. I thought you might send them up with banana boy:). Postman seems do do flexi time round here:rolleyes:

  18. Fill it with landrover swivel grease
It wont leak and it will work perfectly well

Of course a strip and rebuild is always the best course of action

  19. Posted them days ago, i cant see WTF 2 little seals in an envelope should cost more
