Steering Box Oil Plug Removal

Hi, my steering box has started leaking and looking to top it up but nervous of damaging the oil plug.

Any advice on the best method? Is it plastic?

It's plastic with a o-ring to seal. Just pull it out.

 

Did you use a screw driver?

Fingernails or whatever is appropriate...

 

It should lift out. Avoid use of a lot of force its nylon.
Clean the outside of the box first so you can see what you are doing , and so you do not risk dropping any dirt in as you remove the cap.
