  1. Inspired by our Martin's lower end of the market, camping lifestyle weekends I bring you my Deluxe version.

Located in the heart of the North West urban sprawl lies the Manchester Bury and Bolton Canal. A feast for the eyes, delicately fraganced and teaming with wildlife. This national treasure is the perfect spot for aspiring familes looking to enrich their lives via a camping extravaganza in a Camper.
Take a dip in the cool fresh water, listen to the car alarms, play Pooh Sticks with empty Cider Bottles. You wont find such simple attractions in Devon where polution is rife and no real scenery to write home about?
I will personally furnish you with good home/camper made fresh food, locally sourced and cooked to perfection on my camping stove. No need to forage, supermarkets are plenty in this area, providing local produce flown in from local places such as Nigeria, Thailand and Belgium.
An evening spent around the burning Vauxhall Corsa will bring a special warmth you only get outdoors.
This event unlike others is not baised towards Baywindow campers, no camper snobbery here, any old rust bucket camper will do. You can hire them of course if you feel like wasting lots of money or merely pretend mine is yours. I dont mind.

Prices start per weekend- £1 per person , kids under 25 - 50p.

Most weekends available especially in the rain.

I have a new book, but you can download it free online.

    Happy camping.

  3. Condom fishing? Is that new? Hmm I am open to suggestions, we are very flexible here in the North - nothing is too much trouble.

  9. Unfortunately there are European directives that ban Beaver hunting now so we have to eat Horse instead? Hope you will be ok with that? I get them fresh from Tesco.

  10. Not only can we do Condom fishing but look at the rich diversity of life. This guy caught this BMW fish last week, what a whopper!

  12. can we not go fishing to see what sort of new life-forms we may discover due to the suspicious substances frequently dumped in the area?? ... the mutated trout and 8 legged frogs would lead to world fame...also the french would be well impressed with the 8 legged frogs -- delicieux :p

  13. You are correct! Next thing SKY news would be round, fame would follow and our quiet retreat would be spoilt forever by tourism and TV camera crews. I mean the last thing I want to do is be tempted by TV work to do a series about such treasures around the UK, driving about in my Orange van! Who would ever want to do such a thing?

Brilliant idea. The best thing about the North is that it's up North and not down here..;)

  16. I was smiling reading your write up, chuckled at poo sticks, then read 'the evening spent around the burning Vauxhall Corsa', well that did me I spat coffee all over my screen & got funny looks from peeps in the office who are doing proper work & wondering why I'm coughing & chocking on my coffee!

Your on to a winner with this one

  18. Vauxhall Corsa's impart a particularly nice warm glow. I think the lack of paint on them from the factory encourages the plastics to really show their inner strength. Of course the most easily combustable cars suitable for campfire gatherings are Audi's as I have mentioned numerous times on here. They honestly require little excouragement even in the rain?
In the interest of fairness other makes are just as good, I am told?

Just so we dont get any North-South stereotyping here Southern people are very much welcome to these camping weekends. I will endeavour to find a source of soft loo roll just for you. I have been told Aldi sell it for reasonable money although what issues people have with old newspapers I have no idea, most of them are printed with sh** already! :)

Hair washing ah yes Jivedubbing I hear people do that sometimes and also use personal hygene products (whatever they are?)

One day I might travel to Devon to try out Marty D's weekends for research however I will have to work at least 3 years down the pit before I can even cover the cost of his excellent book. I think watching from afar is the best option. Will he take Whippets also I wonder ?
