A lovely sunny day out again at Stanford Hall this year. It's been brilliant, the last few years have got the nice weather. Arrived after a nice blast down the M6 - for some reason I seemed to be overtaking all the other VWs? Lined up without the aid of a tape measure. Spot the imposter! Wheels, wheels, wheels, I love a nice set of wheels: I want a set of these on my Bay, but it's never gonna happen. Loved these on a Mk1 Scriocco: And Ronal Teddies are fab. They're just so wrong, they're right: Shiny: Shiny:
Some nice stuff in the concourse and special displays: Standard height, or lowered? Discuss. Gorgeous Notch: The best Black Cab in the world! Guess my favourite car: @Mrs Majorhangover give me yours NOW!!! Loved this canvas on a Dormobile roof in the for sale section: Nice finishing touch on the seats:
The other side was the side that had rotted away and had to be repaired when the hole was cut for the roof. The guy who did it checked out the passenger side of the gutter and recommended we fit it that way around because it was solid and had not needed welding back together. It doesn't matter which way around I have it as it's a twin slider and so there's a door on both sides. It also confuses people because it's the right way around for a LHD bus and mine's RHD.
I love a notchback, and the only water cooled vdub I like is a mk1 golf. Excellent taste. Although I wouldn't have a beetle for all the tea in china. I don't get them.
You should really take a closer look at beetles dk they are the daddy. From whence it all evolved. Here you go mate. A smile and a bit of knowledge.. Malc http://poptop2.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/beetle-knowledge.html?zx=9703281408aee595 http://poptop2.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/how-beetle-and-my-bay-are-related.html?zx=9703281408aee595 You may know all this. Then again you may not.
The wheels. They are megabucks new from VW (as all OE alloy wheels from the car maker are) and the only sets that come up second hand are from people who have taken them off to put aftermarket wheels on, which is not many yet. They're all very new because up until the introduction of the new-new beetle, the PCD for beetle wheels was 5x100 (it being a Golf in disguise) and it's only the latest incarnation of the new beetle that's 5x112, and therefore fits straight onto a bay (subject to clearancing the centre bore, of course).
I love those Ronal Teddies. I do like those New Beetle Wheels, they would look awesome on a Bay. Cheers for the seat, I did manage to get it home in the end.
