This is my mates 75 bay I've been underneath but can't see anything obvious it was fine then last few days it started making this noise there's no play in the steering at all.
    Any ideas guys.

Upside down ball joints might have something to do with it.
Does it do the same jacked up? Maybe those upside down joints are more sensitive to lacking grease?
Yep. I know - flipped spindles, I've had them too though not long enough to develop any odd problems.

  3. Matey had a squeaky squeak and it turned out to be a shagged steering damper . I sussed it by popping the WD straw under the shroud and giving it a good soaking , that solved the squeak but fitted a new damper the following day - job jobbed...

Sometimes take the wheel off, then just fondling the grease back in from the boots into the joints - and then use a second jack to raise and lower the suspension arm and work the steering repeatedly to work the grease in round the cup.

The ball joint ball is meant to be pressed by the suspension forces into the nylon shell that lines the ball joint. But if its dry it creaks. With ball joints the right way up the grease works its way in by itself.. sometimes..

My brand new ball joints started creaking and the manipulation got the grease onto the ball so the molybdenum sulphide flakes could get to work.

Take care as you will lift the front of the bus with the jack under the suspension. As it can stand on 3 wheels...

Definitely look after them, they're fitted with a snap ring inside the trailing arms and have to be machined out to replace.

I’ve had the same reverso spindle set up and it wasn’t pretty when the ball joints failed. The chromed ball had lost its chrome and chewed everything in sight.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,, But new Im raised. ;)
