Spurious Seat

  1. Hi all

My 73 LB Devon Tintop has these seats in it. I removed the covers hoping to find some part numbers or markings but nothing there. I am hoping to get some seat covers and was hoping that they were standard seats. Anyone know what these are?
    Cheers

Porsche or MX5 at a guess. Definitely not bay seats from what I can tell from those pictures

So you can do a bit of deductive reasoning with them, and whatever features they have, for example:

    • If they don't have the lever to cant them forward (as opposed to a wheel where you can adjust the back angle) then they are probably off a 2 seater, or a 4 door.
    • The design of the headrest (assume the hole is cut as the van bulkheads push the seat forward and it was pressing on peoples heads) makes me think they are a 70's seat.
    • Do they have map pockets on the back?
    • What mechanism allows you to adjust them back and forwards?
    • Lastly - 2 seater seats tend to have much less depth to the backs, and less height on the base as room in most was at a premium.

I'd guess from the above they are off a 4 door 70's car - in which case what had the relatively high spec of having headrests in the 70's?

  5. Thanks for your replies.
Still not a lot clearer about what they are off, however the fact that they are not lb seats is enough.

    Thanks again

Early MX5 have speakers in the headrests as per the hole in your headrests
