T M Specialist Vehicle VW Engine and Transmission Services Fforest, West Wales 07721 466456 Work undertaken on VW Split Screen Camper 1966 KFN 653 – January 2015 Receive vehicle and undertake full inspection and assessment Engine unusable, oil leaks, excessive crank to case play, no oil pressure and heavy knocking Provide fully reconditioned unit no SB2015 Strip, clean, check and service all ancillary components Recon the Webber carbs and linkages Fill with 15/40 oil Assemble ancillaries to unit and bench run Adjust all settings to spec and re-run for 1 hour Re-fit engine to the vehicle with new clutch Strip all vehicle brakes, replace brake shoes, un-seize adjusters and cylinders Renew front wheel bearings and seals Bleed and adjust brakes, set master cylinder clearance Work on worn hand brake linkages Tighten link pins, slight play in king pins (but to spec) Renew steering tie rod and ends Adjust steering box to take up excessive play Adjust wheel alignment Sort out electrical problems affecting lights Adjust regulator to increase charge rate to correct output Road test vehicle to check for braking, handling and performance Adjust carbs, CO and HC settings and re-balance Submit for MOT, underside sound, advise on slight king pin play Note – engine needs to be run in carefully for at least 500 miles Then oil, strainer and tappets need to be done
was this bus visiting the lake district this week..... went for a blast out in mine to blow the dust off it and saw what i can only descibe as identical to yours parked up by the beach in the south lakes area. it did look sweet!!
