Afternoon. My speedo never reads correct speed so I thought I'd have a looksee. The speedo cable secures with a clip through the little hub cap. What secures the hub cap? It won't go any further onto the wheel / disk hub and just hangs there loose. Is it meant to be trapped by the circle in the centre of the wheels? If so then maybe I have the wrong wheels cos there is no circle. Just a larger general circle cut out around the 5 studs of the wheel. I think you know what I mean. If this is the case then how can I secure the speedo hub?
The "cap" is just a friction fit. It may need a knock with a rubber mallet. Rick beat me to it: it looks like yours has been cut down for some reason...
I think you've got the wrong cap! The cap should have a smaller shoulder on (too rainy to check) so that it fits inside the hub - you tap it in with a hammer. Have a look on the other side, see if it's different.
Ah yes quite possible. Maybe done to fit the Porsche wheels on. LoL Never mind, another item to add to my growing shopping list.
it has a flat [glow=red,2,300]flange[/glow] on it anyway, it's clearly been cut down and looks ike hacksawed "thinner" to make it pinch the nut....... proper dog job, i think you're right it was done to let a set of alloys that hadn't got the right size hole fit.
Yeh looking in the parts catalogs the oem part is very different. Bloody bodgers lol still I'm glad to get them porsche wheels off. Rides much nicer with std wheels n tyres.
I was wrong - does fit over the outside. Yours has been bodged. Machine 7 sell 'em http://www.machine7.com/section.php?xSec=495
