Not sure if I've shared this before. Just thought it was ironic being nicked for speeding in a campervan. Fairly exotic too being in the Mont Blanc tunnel. A few years back now, pre kids. We look like a couple of axe murderers a la the movie 'sightseers'. [IMG]

Only just. Thought it was a funny photo/situation. Now where did I put that axe?

Considering that 39 people died in that tunnel when they were burnt to death, its not surprising there is a low speed limit.

The fire reached a heat output of 300 megawatts..

You also have to drive a fixed distance from the vehicle in front which makes for epic queues..

But a day out in Aosta with a pizza in the town square made it worth it for us. Sadly did it in a Peugeot 307..

I got caught in a 30mph zone in North Wales in 2005 whilst en-route to Shell Island.

I didn't appeal it as to tell the Magistrates the excess speed was due to my brakes failing caused by overheating on the way down the bloody steep hill I had had to climb up in 1st gear may not be the best thing to say.

I asked for the photographic proof as no one would believe I had been speeding in an old camper whilst towing a teardrop trailer.

I’ve just been done . 35 in a 30 zone on way back from camping in the Lakes. My mate was following in his Audi A5 and has also been done. Have to do a speed awareness course now. Very annoying.

  11. Better than points, though.

  12. Where abouts in the lakes did you get caught out..
We don't have many speeding cameras that work up here but the camera vans pop up all over the place..
It's only a few hours out of your life and remember don't argue the toss with the person taking the course.

When I did a speed course it was in the fleet airarm museum so I managed to sneak out and spent the time walking around the museum

It was at Warwick Bridge on the A69. I was all fired up after doing 70 on the M6. My mate in the A5 was struggling to keep up lol

  15. The ones on both sides by the petrol station catch a few out if they don't have to stop at the traffic lights...

    Speeding fines are optional.

It's entirely up to the individual whether to risk a fine or not!
