  1. Balls to it then.

    I'll worry about something else.

mcswiggs and The Bobdogs like this.
  2. Even if both have the same gearing, different tyres can make a difference.

The 50-55 mph is for people with stock lawnmower engines and 650 cubic foot/minute upright fans and any hire users.
With better cooling the T4 has an 800 cfm fan so can go faster.
My lawnmower reaches equilibrium at about 110 degrees C oil 70 mph and 4100rpm with its stock gearbox and 185/65R15 tyres.

My 2.4l Type-4 with additional 80 degs thermostatically controlled 15 row oil cooler needs 1 hour+ at 70mph before the temp rises above 80 to about 90-95 where it sits.

Same setup as the bobdogs, possibly speedos, mine over reads a bit at this speed, satnav said 71mph.

  6. Watch out people....there's lunatics out there on the roads taking pictures of their dashboards whilst hurtling along at 70mph!! Madness!

  7. If you want to go fast get a sports car! image.jpeg

  8. I've only just noticed the speedo numbers flip. 01, 02, then 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 then 08, 09
I'm going to look at my crappie VX to see if it's like that on modern cars

Have you also noticed your speedo reads 10mph when your stationary?

It's more exciting in a camper, that's just cruising speed, it goes faster. :D
