sorting one problem and creating another!

  1. Well after getting bus by hme and changing points plugs air filter he's running on all cylinders yeh! Only problem now is i'm leaking oil that I wasn't before which looks like its coming from the bottom of the oil filler and i'm burning oil and my exhaust is blowing just about averywhere. Maybe I shouldn't have touched it :- i'm not a mechanic but I knew I was going to have to learn with the bus. Two questions
    1. How do I find exactly where the oil leak is? I.e spray with something to clean.
    2. Is it hard to get this exhaust off to have it welded because it looks like the nuts on the manifold will snap if I try undoing then?

    Any advice will be greatly received ;D

  4. Oil fillers are a prone leaky spot on Type4's as is the dipstick tube rubber bellows, have a bit of a wipe around them and see where its coming from,

    Exhaust may be a pain though, Plus gas or any other penetrating oil/heat, but still cant guarantee that you wont shear the studs.

  5. Mine has a little dribble after a long run. I also found that new gaskets didn't quite fit properly and when I replaced them with the original ones that were still in good condition the leak all but stopped.
