Never seen a front arch done like this (with the panel edge not showing)
should I be concerned, or is this one way that front arches/tubs get done?

Sometimes the lip for the carpet gets hammered flat and then seam welded to the arch.
It's tricky to judge from that pic how they've joined the two together, it could be a neat job, or plastered with filler. I'd take a look from inside the wheel arch to see how the panels are joined.
Is the other side the same?

Don't know. This is from one of the photos I've been sent ... Other resto photos look like the filler use has been sparing elsewhere .... This isn't Wimborne btw Jim.
Much nearer. Near enough to zip over, but wanted others' take on this bit :hattip:

Do you remember those fridge magnets that kids used to have. Take one. Magnets are so weak. If it sticks then ok imo if it falls off, walk away, to much filler

  7. Does look like they’ve just removed the “gripper strip” for the pedestal mat?

This. As a fitter of arcbes I would call it lazy/didn't know/care how it should be.

That's after primer, so tells you nothing about what's underneath. It looks to be losing its seam underneath the sliding door rail.
If you want a carpet over the tub you will have to glue it.
As Ray says magnets are your friend here

Spotted a few other "shortcuts" painted over so not going to see.
