Does anyone have a picture of the thermostat flaps set up on a 1600 twin port ? I bought some but I think they might be for a different engine or I've got bits missing .. Cam

Just a note, if the connecting bar between the flaps is straight it could be from a 1200, I changed my beetle from 1200 to 1600 and had to cut and weld the bar to get it to fit, it's worked fine like that for the last 2o years.
Thanks that clears things up . I'm missing one of the short bars that link the flaps on one end and my long bar is the wrong one ..... Look like I've got some making to do .
heritage sell the long bars as do megabug. i'm still missing the short one if you come across any Mine will likely not get sorted until next winter now.
Oh I might have one. I had to source two sets to make a decent set. Definitely have a spare set of flaps, but might have the short bar. Is that the U shaped one?
I bought some flaps and a thermostat bracket off ebay last week. There's a 'u' shaped bar? the one's i'm missing are the short one and the long one with a kink in it, and probably some springs - i haven't opened the ebay parcel yet
you beat me to it. I guess i should open up my ebay purchase and check really - just been trying to keep bits for the bug and bus separate. the flaps and thermostat are for the bug which turned out not to have any
Pity as they are just a metal strip with four bends and three holes in it and a pin in the middle hole. Ask your friendly welder he can probably knock them up.
i did think of that but i reckon he's got enough on at the moment and i haven't even told him about the bug front inner wing - eek! I'll introduce the other stuff slowly when the camper is sorted.
