My mum has been busy recently! Charlie Robo is very very happy with his new Molly blanket & has fallen asleep with it tonight...
Well done Mummy Robo - did you not tell her you have a Bay not a Split Fantastic skill to have - won't be many that can do it in a few years! Glad Mini Robo is pleased with it, so would I be!
The blanket almost didn't get finished, my mum had several attempts before she was happy with it! I'm afraid we could only find a pattern for a split, I reckon a bay would tip her over the edge lol... Although saying that my mum is going to knit a pink one for my daughter as her face was a bit glum when Charlie was presented with his! I'm guessing it may well be coming on a few camping trips with him this year. When I was a kid I got loads of jumpers knitted for me by my gran but my favourite was a super ted jumper that had no sleeves, there's an old pic somewhere of me on Mablethorpe beach wearing it lol!
Oh no - don't start on what we wore as kids that had been knitted for us :laugh2: Oh the stories we could share :-[ Our daughter - 8 - spent boxing day knitting a scarf kit she got from Santa - she done really well - Mrs B was even surprised what she remembered from her days of knitting before she rebelled many moons years ago.
Haha... Knitted trunks! Brilliant! I love that Molly blanket.... I think I need one for in Molly... She's v talented it's wonderful to have a skill like that and I'm sure it makes it all worth while when she sees how happy its made the grandkids
I used to love the jumpers my Mum used to knit for me. She once did 3 of them in a science fiction theme, one was of Dan Dare, one of The Mekon & one with Dalek on it. These days I only ever seem to wear hoodies or polar fleece sweaters.
my mum was a prolific knitter so we were kitted out in life scarring jumpers and cardies most of our childhood the matching Bill and Ben cardies with flowerpots for pockets were the favs, no pics fortunately
That bug is cool - does anyone have that bug pattern (its the best one I have seen) and a bay that one they could copy me for a beer or two or let me know where they sell them And as for the knitted trunks well, what can I say. So innocent! Mrs B
pm me your e-mail and i will send you both the campers a bit different as Gill adapted the patten to suit our van
After the success of my lad Charlie's blanket my mum has been busy doing a girlie one for my daughter Katie & it's brilliant! I'm hoping the new curtains are next
