Solex carbs

Has anyone got this set up on a type4 engine? They are Dual Solex 32 34 pict 3 carburettors.
Just need to pick someone's brains on a couple of things.

Thanks Zed, I have webers on at the moment and there are a few differences, I'll get out the workshop book to run through. Anything to watch out for when fitting & setting up?

Hmmm, am I best to steer clear of these then? They sound a bit complicated!

They are. You might look elsewhere for simpler carbs. I think VW got a bit carried away...

 

What is normally recommended as replacements? There are some many to chose from?

 

I got my solexes set up last year after some issues, thanks to zed and the itinerant article, if you are logical it's easy but time consuming. My advice, once set don't f**k with them!

 

Follow Zed's link and forget Haynes/Bentley... Wish I did first time. Perfectly good carbs.
