  1. Hi all
I am fitting a pair of 32-32 solex carbs to my bus binning the progressive carb but I am a bit stumped by the balance pipe it looks to be a real VW thing but I can't get my head around how it goes am i right in thinking that it runs at the back of the engine with the pipe for the servo going through the tin ware and connecting to the rubber hose for the servo
Hope that makes sense I can't get to take any photos till the morning now

  4. This is a T25 but essentially the same apart from where the servo pipe connects. T2 connects to a stub on the balence pipe T25's use a T piece where the balance pipe fits the manifold.

Don't the type 4 engines look clutter free without the air filter....shame that the standard carbs can't have after market filters.....or can they ?

Of course they can but you lose the improved warm air feed and smoother airflow down the tops of the carbs so it will run worse especially on cold days. You can fit whatever you want ..little lampshades?
    Style over function. Sorry.

  7. Cheers bigherb thats balance pipe simular to mine but mine's got two stubs on it one on the left will go through the hole in the tinware for the servo take off the one on the right wont go anywhere the only solution i can think of is to cap it off and drill a clearance hole in tinware
