Triumph Tiger Cub - 1957 T20C (Competition) Only 4111 were ever made there are only 160 registered in the UK today Matching numbers and confirmed as a Competition model by factory records and the Triumph Club – shipped direct to the States in March 57 and returned home to sit for many years, unloved, one of the first few ‘C’ models shipped, as C designation not included in engine number. Preserved rather than restored, as much original retained as able - this is a bike to ride not to store in a garage. In its day this was a special bike: • Original Bill Adams (California) Earles front forks with Armstrong shocks still bearing the stickers from the Minneapolis supplier • Aluminium 6 fin barrel and believed to be a high comp piston from the same supplier • Girling uprated rear shocks • 62 tooth rear sprocket – shows how it was geared for trials • Heavy duty clutch springs • Original Amal 332 carb • New downpipe and period Miller silencer • New battery • Rebuilt wheels and new tyres for the road rather than mud • As much original kept as possible including loom and electrical components and some paintwork (Silver) • Photos of original barn find condition and work done • V5 in my name • The gear indicator is not connected Bike is in Malvern, Worcestershire and viewing welcomed Call Bryan on 07462 541162 £3495 or near offer
Mmmmm - very nice . Great to see one that hasn`t been messed around with .... too much Good luck with the sale .
Rides good - the idea is that Earles stop the front diving on the rough, only used it on the road but it stiffens the front up a bit from what I remember of Cubs I've tried with standard forks.
I had 2 tiger cubs in the late sixties, great bikes, very rare now so prices are high. yours looks very fine. Have a look around on ebay etc. to get an idea of guide price. I saw a standard T20 sold at a country show last year for £2500
Now on the "Car and Classic" website - there's another on there in a dealers for 5k - so mine is competitively priced I think!!!
